Despite Saturday’s loss to Hull City, it’s been a fantastic start to the season for Leeds United – three points clear at the top of the Championship with a healthier goal difference than second-placed Norwich City.
There is always room for another goalscorer, however, and with that in mind, we recently asked the Leeds fans whether they would be interested in a potentially signing Bournemouth’s Jermain Defoe.
And as it transpired, 66% of the supporters polled are in favour of the move.
Defoe made 26 appearances in all competitions for Bournemouth during the 2017-18 season, and whilst he has been involved for the Cherries this term, there is no question that he is down the pecking order.
The 36-year-old has been a goalscorer at every club that he was represented, and a record of over 150 strikes in the Premier League is very impressive indeed.
Defoe hadn’t scored in eight Bournemouth appearances this term heading into the weekend, but could fire Leeds to promotion if he joined the Whites on loan for the second half of the 2018-19 campaign.
