Middlesbrough announced on Thursday that they had completed the signing of goalkeeper Andy Lonergan on a one-year contract.
Lonergan joined Leeds from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017, but hardly played last season before being released.
The 34-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the 2018-19 campaign, and will certainly bring valuable experience to Tony Pulis’ side.
That said, it would be fair to say that Boro fans are not too pleased with the news.

Indeed, having sold Patrick Bamford to Leeds United earlier this week, the club’s supporters were expecting a bit more in terms of a new signing.
Adama Traore is also expected to move on before this summer’s transfer window ends, and the Boro fans have jokingly asked whether Lonergan can play on the wing.
Boro are expected to be busy before the transfer window closes next week, but the club’s supporters were not exactly thrilled with their latest piece of business.
