Leeds United defender Junior Firpo missed his team’s 2-1 defeat away to Crystal Palace through injury, reliable journalist Phil Hay has confirmed.
The Lowdown: Leeds beaten at Palace
The Whites made the trip to Selhurst Park for a Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon, looking to pick up a victory on the road.
Patrick Struijk may have given Leeds the lead early on with a well-taken finish but things went downhill after that, with Palace scoring twice to secure the win.
Firpo was missing from the matchday squad in south London, and Hay has since shed some light regarding the Spaniard’s absence.
The Latest: Firpo injured after Villa clash
Taking to Twitter after the match, Hay revealed that the left-back suffered an injury after the 0-0 draw at home to Aston Villa last weekend.
The Athletic reporter stated:
“Firpo had an injury issue after the Villa game so wasn’t involved today.”

The Verdict: Left-back issues
Leeds seem incapable of ridding themselves of injury problems these days, with numerous players always seeming to be out at the same time, all over the pitch.
With Firpo and Stuart Dallas both unavailable, it means that left-back is a real concern for Marsch at the moment, with Struijk far from a natural in that role even though he is performing solidly there, achieving a 7.56 WhoScored rating for his display against Palace.
The hope is that Firpo’s injury is not serious – he has been hailed by Kevin Campbell as ‘incredibly fit’ – and that he may be in contention to start against Arsenal next Sunday as the Premier League leaders head to Elland Road.
