Rangers beat Livingston 3-0 to go second in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday, but it is now back to Europa League focus for Steven Gerrard’s men, and the boss will have some tough decisions to make ahead of Thursday’s clash with Villarreal.
Group G is very finely poised, with the Spanish side top with six points. Spartak Moscow are then second with five, ahead of Rangers on the same number of points and Rapid Vienna at the bottom but still in with a shout of going through thanks to their four-point tally.
If Rangers can beat Villarreal at Ibrox on Thursday then they will be in with a great chance of qualifying for the knockout stage, but Gerrard will need to be wary of the attacking threat that the visitors will pose.
The 38-year-old boss then should bring in Jon Flanagan, 25, at left-back for midfielder Andy Halliday, who started against Livingston and has provided cover in defence for much of the season so far. The former Liverpool man though would surely be a more solid option even if he has come under criticism from his own fans on Twitter for many of his displays this term.
So, Rangers fans, who do you think should start at left-back? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
