Leeds United fans on Twitter are seemingly very happy after Phil Hay gave a transfer update stating that they’re not going to be signing Matej Vydra in January.
It may seem strange that fans are happy to be missing out on the chance to sign a man who was the division’s top goalscorer the last time he played in the Championship, but it seems as if a number of supporters still harbour negative feelings towards him after what happened last time the Whites attempted to sign the Czech.
For those who need a little refresher on what happened, the story goes that Leeds were closing in on an £11m move for him, but the club couldn’t agree to personal terms with the forward and he ended up joining Burnley.
Some fans were seemingly buzzing about the news that he’s not signing in January due to what happened last time.
Another group of supporters seemingly just don’t rate the striker as they expressed joy after finding out that Leeds aren’t interested in the Burnley man.
Others were happy to see the club passing up on the chance to sign the attacker due to the fact that they don’t believe he’s as good as what they currently have.
This is great to see as supporters have often been critical of Patrick Bamford, but it seems as if his goalscoring antics in recent weeks have won a number of fans over.
There was a subsection of the fanbase that believe it isn’t just Bamford and Eddie Nketiah who are better than the 27-year-old as some fans claimed that they’d rather see Ryan Edmondson given a chance.
Meanwhile, Leeds fans have been showing their disdain for the latest Elland Road trend.
