West Ham United’s £10m capture of Jordan Hugill in the final hours of the January transfer window was bizarre to say the absolute least.
Hugill arrived at the London Stadium off the back of scoring 10 times in 29 appearances for Preston North End in the first half of the 2017-18 campaign.
The 25-year-old has hardly kicked a ball for the Hammers, however, playing just 12 minutes of Premier League football since pitching up in the English capital.

Hugill did score against Dagenham & Redbridge in a friendly last week, however, and will be eyeing a spot in the team against Southampton at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Hugill has not done anything to upset the West Ham fanbase, but the club’s supporters have poked fun at the striker on social media.
Indeed, one fan account claimed that he would take Hugill with the England squad to the 2018 World Cup just so they could leave him behind.
